| Resource Recovery PlanRegional Districts are required under provincial regulations to develop a Solid Waste Management Plan. In the RDCK, to reflect our focus on waste reduction and reuse, this plan is referred to as the 'Resource Recovery Plan'. The RDCK recently updated its Resource Recovery Plan, which was approved by the BC Ministry of Environment in Decemer 2011. The new plan, which sets the course for regional waste management activities over the next several years, reflects a modern approach to waste management. It recognizes that the environmental impact of the RDCK's Resource Recovery Services is significant, and details the many areas where we can improve the existing waste management system. Please see the attachments to this page for the documents that were developed as part of the planning process. Resource Recovery Plan Documents(all documents open in a new window)
