One Bag Recycling Program

Residents within the City of Castlegar and portions of electoral areas I and J now have a one bag curbside recycling program.

The old recylcing system in this area required that residents sort their recyclables into blue or clear bags. Recent advances in recycling technology now allow you to include all your recyclables in one bag.

Residents  outside of the curbside collection area in the West subregion (Electoral Areas H, I, J & K, the Village of Nakusp, Village of Silverton, Village of Slocan, and the Village of New Denver) use drop-off recycling depots (see locations below).  Bins at recycling depots accept the same materials as the one bag program however no bags are required!  All materials (except glass) can be deposited co-mingled in the recycling bins proivided. Seperate bins are designated at depots for glass only.
