RDCK Electoral Area ‘F’ Land Use Planning

Welcome to the web page for the Regional District of Central Kootenay (RDCK) Electoral Area 'F' Bylaw review. The intent of this review is to update the existing Rural Land Use Bylaw 951, 1992 with the preparation of an Official Community Plan (OCP), and Zoning Bylaws.

Due to amendments to the Provincial Local Government Act, the Rural Land Use Bylaw will be replaced with an OCP Bylaw and Zoning Bylaw. The RDCK will first prepare the OCP Bylaw followed by the Zoning Bylaw. The OCP will detail the community's vision for the future land use and development of Area 'F'. The OCP will contain goals, objectives, policies and regulation for a variety of uses and issues including, but not limited to Social, Economic, Residential, Agricultural, Environmental, Commercial, Industrial, Parks, Transportation, Servicing, Zoning and Development Permit Areas. The Zoning Bylaw will contain the detailed land use regulations and requirements necessary to achieve the community vision as detailed in the OCP Bylaw.
