| What is an Advisory Planning Commission?Local governments enact land use planning and decisions through official community plans, zoning bylaws, development permits, and development variance permits. An Advisory Planning Commission (APC) –an independent body comprised of local residents- can be established to make recommendations on proposed land use bylaws or permits that are referred to it by a municipal council, regional board, or electoral area director. Minutes from the APC meetings, must be finalized (signed) prior to posting on this site. Subject to the frequency of their respective meetings, this may sometimes result in delays in posting the finalized minutes, after the meeting date. Finalized minutes can be viewed on the RDCK website, under What is an Advisory Planning Commission, located here. This site is currently being upgraded, if the information you are seeking is not available please check back later.
