CRESTON & DISTRICT COMMUNITY COMPLEX FACILITY ENHANCEMENT PROJECT

WHAT’S HAPPENING RIGHT NOW:

· The Arena changerooms

Forms have been stripped off the walls and the preparation for the floor has started with backfill and compacting. The underslab plumbing and exterior drainage is currently being installed.

· Curling Rink floor

All the brine lines and refrigeration headers have been removed. The layers of styrofoam under the brine lines are being removed and then the sand will be excavated as well as jack hammering and removal of old concrete curling slab.

· Aquatic Centre

Excavation to native soil has begun in order to establish a solid base for backfill and footings.

WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT TO SEE HAPPEN WITHIN THE NEXT MONTH:

  •  Work will continue on the 6 new change rooms
  •  Excavation will continue for the new pool site on the West side of the building
  •  The new concrete curling rink slab with heat storage is scheduled to be completed in November 2008

This project is funded by The Canada-British Columbia Municipal Rural Infrastructure Fund, the residents of the Creston Valley, and donations.
