| CRESTON & DISTRICT COMMUNITY COMPLEX FACILITY ENHANCEMENT PROJECT JUNE 30, 2010
From the Groundbreaking Ceremony May 8, 2008 to the Grand Opening Ceremony June 26, 2010 - Creston Valley citizens have waited with anticipation as their new facility was designed, then transformed into a reality. The weather was fantastic for both the ceremony as well as a few roofers doing details up top. The crowds poured in and checked out the new and old portions of the building with nothing but positive comments and accolades. The refreshment ladies did a fantastic job keeping crowds fed and watered while Carrie Armstrong from the Creston Swim Team provides information to an interested patron. Former Area C Director Tom Mann discusses the dream with RDCK General Manager of Community Services Joe Chirico. (right) Serena Naeve takes her dad on to the patio to see the view as well as learning that being over 85 has its advantages, namely using the facility at no cost. Aquatic Society member Gillian Cooper happily discusses this eventful day with Creston Valley Advance editor Brian Lawrence while volunteer Larry Nowak pleasantly guards the hallway to the aquatic changerooms once the scheduled swims started. Construction will continue on in various areas of the building over the next few months. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
