THE PROJECT IS UNDERWAY!

The Regional District of Central Kootenay at the Board Meeting on June 23^rd, 2007 retained the services of Septra Projects Ltd. for Construction/Project Management Services and Vic Davies Architect Ltd. as Prime Consultant and appointed 6 Creston Valley residents to the Design Team.

Chair of the Creston Valley Services Committee, Director John Kettle on behalf of Directors Tom Mann, Verna Mayers-McKenzie, and Mayor Joe Snopek "The project design team is our best effort to bring together excellent professional resources with six community minded volunteers and RDCK staff to reach our goal of building a first class facility that is on time and on budget."

The RDCK has appointed Alex Nilsson, Friends of the Community Complex, Candace Foy, Creston Valley Aquatic Society, Lorne Eckersley, Karen Douville, Ron Toyota and Richard Allan to provide local knowledge and expertise to the Design Team.

Septra’s staff has a long and successful history in developing and constructing recreational facilities in Western Canada and in the United States. Most recently Septra worked on the Armstrong/Spallumcheen Ice Arena and the City of Kimberley Aquatic Centre.

Vic Davies is the Architect who has been involved with the building of 69 recreation/aquatic facilities throughout British Columbia and the world says " this will be my final project, my legacy". "Our project design team is exceptionally well-versed in modern recreation centre design and renovation, and is able to provide a unique total design service package. The Team has built the extraordinary reputation of being able to produce innovative cost-efficient buildings on-time and within budget."
